I went to Pastires by Edie yesterday and the cakes were great but I can't help but agree with you about the bad service. There were 3 people behind the counter and I was the only customer so there was no excuse. The cakes didn't have any labels nor prices so when I asked her what the flavors were for the different cakes she was not too happy. I also asked about sheet cakes since there are 3 birthdays coming up this March and I always bring the cake for family gatherings and she told me flat out to come back when I am ready to order and she will tell me what they have. I am not going back there.

I love Diddy Riese... too bad they raised the price recently. Still worth the $1.25. Since you mention Corner Bakery (chain), hopefully you give Panera a try too, their pastries are great. Anyhows, love the photos.

How cool that you went to Diddy Reese! I went to UCLA and we lived on those cheap cookies. They have sure upgraded the interior since I was in school --it used to be much more like a hole-in-the-wall, but now look at that fancy sign. I'm glad to see they're still doing well. I also love the corner bakery (I also go to the Calabassas one, our families must live close). My favorite thing there is actually the Swiss Oatmeal (it's really Muslei). Yum. Next time I'm in LA I want to check out Jin Patisserie. If you get there first let me know.
