The biggest jar of Nutella ever

3kg-nutella

Behold the largest jar of Nutella ever: this gold-topped beauty weighs 6.6 pounds and is about as big as a gallon of milk. By comparison, a regular jar weighs .75 pounds. It’s the perfect gift for the Nutella lover in your life! Just $43.95 plus $25 for ground shipping.

Or, pick it up in person at Buon Italia in Chelsea Market. The famous market was the former home of Nabisco and now houses the Food Network. There’s actually not much to see here, except for the Nutella. My favorite gourmet food shops are Fairway, Zabar’s and Sahadi’s. They have more eye-popping displays of unusual food (chickpea flour, a gazillion varieties of bread made from wild yeast, an international cheese counter, etc.), but alas they don’t have giant jars of Nutella.

I noticed those too at Buon Italia a couple weeks ago, I wonder who actually buys these besides creperies. I took a picture, but you can’t really tell how huge the jars are.

Only creperies? Nope, ask a german familie with 2 kids, how long the mega jar lasts.. I bet, under a month. You can bake cakes with Nutella, put it in a blender with heavy cream and Wiskey, for the best "Knock-off-Bailey’s" you ever had (even better than the actual, in my opinion). You can use it to make fabulous chocolate or chocolate/banana smoothies…, superb nougat icecream (melt it, integrate in icecream mixture. There is just so many things (of course, dont forget the crepes, or make a grilled banana Nutella French toast..) By now, you can tell I am german, right?? Well, if it wasn’t so crazily expensive, I would order one. But I will just wait til I go home and take one back. They sell them around christmas. It is only half of the price, and trust me, my kids eat 1,5 pounds in 3 weeks (that is 2 regular jars), and that is, because I limit them.
